WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-Ala.) today voted to provide $7.85 billion in supplemental disaster relief funding for response and recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
H. Res. 502, Making Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief, fulfills the Trump Administration’s request for $7.4 billion for the FEMA Disaster Relief Fund and $450 million for the Small Business Administration’s disaster loan program.
“Hurricane Harvey was a devastating storm that has stretched the resources of our federal disaster relief agencies,” Roby said. “This legislation will provide our FEMA and SBA professionals with the initial funding they need to help hurricane victims. This is a simple, responsible supplemental appropriations bill, and I urge the Senate to take it up and pass it right away.”
